I finished The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football a couple of days ago. Interesting read. The authors did a good job of reporting on some of the bigger stories in college football the last couple of years.

The school they use as emblematic of problems with academic fraud, the tutoring system and sexual assault is Missouri with a focus on Derrick Washington. Not only was Washington a sick fuck, he was also an idiot. He was regularly banging one of Mike Dixon's accusers. She had a roommate. This girl was a good girl who claimed to be a virgin. One night, Washington is at their place to bang Dixon's accuser. He leaves the bedroom and goes to the roommates room. She's sleeping and Washington sticks his finger in her vagina. She wakes up terrified and doesn't say anything. After he left, she later went to the police. That's the sexual assault. And, before Washington did it, he told Dixon's accuser that he was going to go do it. Sick dumbass.

There was a brief KU mention in the book. Washington State knew that KU was interested in hiring Mike Leach and were worried about getting beat to the punch. That caused them to move quickly on their hiring process.

This makes me sad. Not only cause he's a good football coach, but because the Leach rumors led to some awesome photoshops
