  • Don Fambrough: "I'm not sorry to see him go."

    http://www2.kusports.com/news/2010/s...ll-needs-love/

The vinegar back in his voice, Don Fambrough will be back in his seat at Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning, rooting on his alma mater, Kansas, which battles Georgia Tech and long odds.

Fambrough listened to the first game on the radio because, he said, the parking pass near the elevator entrance he had used for years had been taken away from him.

The day after Lew Perkins “resigned” as athletic director, Fambrough said, he received a call from somebody in the athletic department informing they had a parking pass for him.

“We had a falling out,” Fambrough said of Perkins. “I’m not sorry to see him go.”
Spin this one....the most beloved KU figure gets his parking pass pulled; you want to know why? Because he was one of the organizers for the non-sanctioned "mangino appreciation" meeting on the hill after Mark "resigned." There are two others that I know that have been "punished" for being a part of the group that put together that small group of fans who said thanks.

I get why you might do this, but seriously, it's an old man. Unless he is talking directly about you or your staff, ignore him. Probably more stories like this will be coming out over the next few months.

No, it's not just "an old man", it's Don Muthafuken Fambrough. Not even Lew should be allowed to fuck with Don. I don't care if Don broke into Lew's house, left a steamer on his wife's chest and then peed in his scotch, Lew had no business pulling a punk ass move like that to Don. That's BS.

Lew can go fuck himself with such a bush-league move. What an asshole if he's responsible. If not he then whomever is responsible.

That is awesome. I can't believe Lew would do something like this? Maybe Fambrough should have given him an exercise bike or something.

Hell, the event was even more focused on getting the team pumped for the slavers. Yeah, it was aim at giving support to Mangino, but we had lost 6 straight going into that weekend. They wanted the team to wake-up and crush the tiggers. Which, we almost did (not that it matters when it comes to W's and L's).

He bit the hand that was feeding him. Quid pro quo. It isn't rocket science.

It seems kind of petty to do that to someone so venerable.

Yeah, why go after the old man? He never said anything bad about Lew. Just supporting Mangino and the team heading into mizzou (the most hated thing in Fam's life).

I have heard Lew was not afraid of burning bridges or making ememies to make a point. I have read that he was not a "nice" man, just one with vision and someone who knew how to get a job done. It was not wise to cross him.

I worked for someone like that once. I quit.
