  • Webb & Hatch to start

    <http://www2.kusports.com/news/2010/s...-saturday/>

    Hopefully this will make a difference, though it will be a tough first start against Georgia Tech. I wondered why Hatch was not starting, he has been solid for KU in the past. We will see what KU can do this week after beling listed by ESPN of being the worst upset in week one. I am not one in favor of moral victories, a close game would be nice.

    Wednesday, ESPN.com college football writer Mark Schlabach revealed his first “Bottom 10” rankings for the 2010 season. There, in a tie for fifth place with Ole Miss, were the Jayhawks, of which Schlabach wrote: “The Rebels’ D looked silly chasing around the Gamecocks, and the Jayhawks’ pathetic performance on offense was even worse.”

    I think Hatch must have been suspended for the first game for something. He has been one of our best lineman the past year. I can't remember if that was announced or not. But, you don't bench that guy unless he gave you no option because of behavioral issues.

      Regarding Hatch, I recall reading some reports where he had some back injury & weight issues. The kind where the injury prevents the work necessary to lose weight and the weight issue compounds the back injury. Somebody else had an observation from the game that he was very slow in moving around. I hope he's feeling better..........
