I am extremely bummed. Did not expect us to be good this year (4-8), but did not expect us to be this bad. But now it seems as though people are just avoiding this place because WtW was right all along. Chainsaw, now you are scaring people off of here.

BTW, Lew did not leave the stadium on Sat. night for a long time. He was still upstairs at least an hour aftwards, as his car did not move (we were having beers at our car after the game sulking and noticed his car still there).

Has horrible as that game was, it was only 1 game.

Saying that, i don't think we'll have even a small chance to go to a bowl until next year.

No, we all knew in our heart of hearts he was right from the get go but some wanted to be optimistic. I have been pretty much underwhelmed with the hire and all the things since then. The amateur move of taking the names off the jerseys was the first sign that we were screwed. That kind of crap has been done to death and is cliche. The Toben move baffled me. I can't get fired up about this guy. He is about as lukewarm as they come.

I kicked around the idea of renewing tickets all summer, but I just knew a guy who just finished up a 5-7 season at Buffalo with a 20-30 career record was going to be bad. I can't point to a single thing this guy has done that I see as a positive step in the right direction for KU football. I hope I am wrong, but being stuck with this crap for 2 years will be too much for me.

One game does not a career make. I don't think this is the tip of an iceberg. It's concerning, but it isn't the fire and brimstone WtW has been preaching.

agreed with RtHP....he's completely changing the scheme and he's doing it with guys he didn't recruit...anyone that was expecting a bowl was setting themselves up for complete disappointment

I was banned from phog for my thoughts on Perkins, his handling of Mangino's dismissal, and the hiring of Turner Gill. BMW and Moose went on a crusade to have me kicked off the board. I can only imagine that they are even more disappointed today than me. I knew this was coming.

I am still waiting on tom lights invitation to return along with an apology.

My only silver lining in this entire process is that P.O.S. garbage Lew Perkins leaves campus as a total goat.

I was not expecting a bowl. I was expecting a 4 or 5 win season. But after Saturday it looks like we don't have a conference win in our pocket. We may win 1 game. We will get taken to the woodshed this weekend which will further break our confidence. Most of our players are in the midst of a 8 game losing streak. Their confidence will be shattered by Saturdays game, then we go on a tough road trip. New Mexico State is an easier opponent, if we can't beat them, throw in the towel. We follow that with a road game to Baylor, maybe our second win if lucky. After that we follow it up with KSU coming in wanting to reestablish dominance. Snyder will be jacked to run the score up on us. As poorly organized as we were in the game where we donated all our preparation from spring/summer/fall and as meticulous as Snyder is, we are going to get everything thrown at us and KSU will be out for blood.

Our special teams hasn't improved any, the offense was pretty crappy, our defense was encouraging, but that was against NDSU. Lets see what kind of team shows up against GT. If it is much like last week :killme.

Wave, even if you are right you don't need to gloat. I'm not a Turnerover pumper so don't lump me in with that sort but jeebus, this is a bit like being the guy that figures out the end of teh world is truly nigh. Not exactly good news. I can pay you a bonus with Monopoly money.

Maybe we just need a year or two of cookies and cream before we can go get another boot-up-the-ass sort of guy.

Of course I hope I'm wrong and we still win at least 4-5 games this year. Of course I hope we win even more. I can eat almost any sort of crow meal if topped with victories.

It may only be one game, but it's a ridiculously terrible first impression.

I'm encouraged by Justin Springer's quote in the Kansan today: "We have to get better, we can't give up six points." Hopefully the rest of the defense shares his mindset that they can't rely on the offense to bail them out now.

The its only one game excuse would work if we were playing a D1 team. We should handily beat an average/below average 1AA team. At least look like football was being played.

That's where the disconnect comes. It invalidates the just one game excuse.

Keegan's column yesterday scared me:
