I hope the kid can stay healthy. If he can do that, he's got the potential to be a great weapon. I just have terrible visions of us using him in the option 20 times a game.

Agreed.

And for that, he absolutely has to be able to throw the ball, if just to keep the defense honest.

I see it as kind of a similar situation to Kerry in 2006. I would have loved to see what KM could have done if his shoulder didn't get jacked up. Once he lost his ability to throw, the defense was free to stuff the line of scrimmage.
