Now, if Hampton and Wilson both commit and Dotson returns (very likely)....IT'S ON!

Gotta love Dennis Dodd saying that you have to give the NCAA credit like their archaic rules didn't rob Silvio of a year of important developmental opportunity.

Not only that, but it's not like he redshirted for a year. He is classified as a Junior now in terms of eligibility. Nice to finally have this thing over with.

This is great news for this year!

But, since the original ruling has been overturned, why did the NCAA even push the envelope with such a harsh penalty to begin with against Silvio when just about everyone in the media said it was too much of a punishment? If it was to try and hurt KU by stopping their streak, impacting recruiting and any other reason, then NCAA should be investigated. I know that it would be hard to find any evidence, but KU should hire a private detective to see if there is anything pointing towards something by the NCAA to hurt KU basketball. The kid was eligible when he came to KU and the NCAA cleared him. Then they go back and reverse his eligibility?

Once again, the NCAA sucks monkey balls.

He never should have been suspended in the first place.

I believe the NCAA took their pound of flesh from SDS as a “punishment” to leave the 2018 Final Four alone. The NCAA cleared him from an academic perspective. That doesn’t mean it’s a free pass from other issues that could make him ineligible.

Investigating the NCAA is not a good idea. KU has skated on a couple of issues, in recent years, that could have been bad. Remember Cliff Alexander? We held him out because info about of a hinky loan his mom allegedly took out bubbled up. He never played again. Which tells you he was probably ineligible for all the games he played in. KU didn’t push the issue, Cliff didn’t push the issue and the NCAA seemed to be happy to let it end the way it did. You piss them off and perhaps they dedicate some resources to get to the bottom of it.

Doke getting hurt, Vick losing his mind and a lack of three point shooting also helped end the streak. You really can’t say that SDS would have made up for those deficiencies.
