  • Trevor Lacey

4* 2011 recruit out of Alabama that Self is visiting on Friday.

6' 3'' guard that sounds like a pretty good shooter

Other offers include 'Bama, Auburn, UConn, and Kenderpy

UK has been on Lacey for some time now, as have the home staters Bammer and Auburn. Kid can absolutely fill it up from deep. His overall game needs development but man can he shoot. Puts up gaudy scoring numbers. I don't think UK gets him unless Doron Lamb declares for the draft, and he's said he'll be back. If Lamb leaves, UK is right there at the top of his list IMO. If Lamb stays, I think he's Bammer's to lose. I've heard rumors that he may have trouble qualifying academically, though.

UK's certainly the pick if that's true then....no one's better at keeping them eligible for 1 semester than Cal!

LOL, if he qualifies for UK then he would qualify for KU and you know it.

UK out of state student requirements: ACT 22 or GPA 2.0
KU out of state student requirements: ACT 24 or GPA 2.5

The Big 10, we are not....but we're not as easy to get into as SEC schools (at least for out of state)

Oh I know what the ACT and GPA requirements are. If UK can get him to "qualify" I am sure KU could too. In fact KU is pretty damn good at it (not a knock on KU, you guys are pros).

I pretty much agree with Ching. Does that make me a bad fan? The fact we got Selby qualified was a magical piece of work.

Every big time school "tweaks" admissions/policies for high profile recruits/current players in one or another at times. Those that think otherwise are fooling themselves.

The SEC is by far the worst at this

Isn't the SEC considered the worst when it comes to Academics?

To help bridge this gap, Duncan suggests that schools that cannot graduate at least 40 percent of their student-athletes be banned from postseason play. If the rule was applied to this year's tournament, 12 of the 65 teams would be locked out of the tournament. Three of them are No. 6 seeds or better—the University of Tennessee, the University of Maryland, and the University of Kentucky. "If you can't manage to graduate two out of five players, how serious are the institutions and the colleges about the players' academic success?" Duncan asks. "How are they preparing student-athletes for life?"

I agree - in regards to 4 year players. Early entrants to the draft who leave in good academic standing, though, are not the fault of the institution and are not detremental.

they're also not counted in this...don't try to blame it on Cal's 1 and done success

probably didn't help he ran off everyone on the team before last year
