More overpaid (2+ million dollar) big 12 coach? Turner Gill or Mike Anderson?

Turner Gill is the 19th highest paid coach in NCAA football. He is the 4th highest paid coach in the Big 12. Turner Gill has a larger salary than Frank Beamer, Steve Spurrier, Mike Gundy and Bill Snyder.

Mike Anderson will be tied with Rick Barnes for the 8th highest salary in college basketball. He and Barnes will be 2nd highest in Big 12. Mike Anderson will have a larger salary than Calhoun, Howland, Coach K and Boeheim.

My vote is for Gil. Mizzoo can not overpay a coach. The more they pay, the better it is each year when they faceplant

It is somewhat news to me. I followed the hire, but I wasn't aware of his price tag relative to other college coaches. Truth be told, I'm much more into pro football and just don't pay that much attention to the college game outside of how KU is doing. And no one gives a shit about how much pro coaches are paid.

I don't mind that we pay a coach that much. It just seems that if you pay a guy 19th place money you should get the 19th best coach...and Gill ain't that.

you have to think that 30% of the salary is for coaching, recruiting, the coach's show, etc, and 70% is a fee for living in Columbia.

Sure he's just starting, but his pay should be relative to that IMO. Gill may turn out to be a very, very good coach and warrant top tier money, but to this point he isn't and doesn't.
