christ Wave, you can't even fucking read

"Before we start, a few notes on these numbers:
They are from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
The expenses, revenues and profits are for the football programs only. The total athletic department numbers are available in the Forbes article."

      the full #'s are

      " Athletic Dept Profit
      University of Texas $29,603,034.00
      University of Kansas $11,687,378.00
      Kansas State $11,099,094.00
      University of Oklahoma $10,121,904.00
      Oklahoma State $5,402,887.00
      University of Nebraska $5,029,604.00
      Texas Tech $4,898,394.00
      Texas A&M $2,675,650.00
      University of Missouri $2,505,575.00
      University of Colorado $930,604.00
      Iowa State $215,540.00
      Baylor University $0.00
Wondering how Kansas ends up second in athletic department profit after nearly depleting their football revenue with football expenses? Basketball, of course. During this same time period, Kansas ranked #11 amongst all BCS schools in basketball revenue. Texas followed closely behind in twelfth position."

      from the forbes article

Our athletic department is 2nd most profitable in the entire Big 12 as a whole

To me, the BIGGEST news here, is that not only do we outspend KSU in football, we pull in more football revenue

              that's nuts

donors aren't exactly chomping at the bit to give to a football program that still employs chris cosh

This blows. We need to move to a conference with better revenues. Hell the SEC teams get like 24mil each and they all have their own local media contracts. Seriously, Ark gets more money than we do. Now I'm pissed

what's sad is that UT's bringing in 93 million a year in fucking football revenue, but is too fucking stingy to share conference revenue fairly

They try to do these reports, but there is no way to be fully accurate with them due to the Williams Fund. There is no way that the donations to the Williams Fund are calculated in these numbers. They can't because your donation to the Fund goes toward "all sports". There is no accurate way to tell how much a given sport actually brings in (really just football and basketball). Now, we all know the majority of donations to the Williams Fund are given so you can have better seats in AFH, but there are some donors who do it for football.

Therefore, you can't accurately distribute the revenues appropriately for a sport. And, that is a huge portion of KU Athletics income, if not the majority of it, that isn't even listed in this report.

Contributing money to the Williams fund to get better football tickets is proof that you have too much money.
