Bob Davis' epic meltdown...

I was listening to the call on the radio, and Bob talked about the palming call and the intentional call for the remainder of the game. He commented that if it had happened in the tournament that it would bring national attention to the poor officiating. As it turns out, apparently nobody was watching the game (due to sun spots...ha) across the country by that point anyway.

I think it was a HUGE conspiracy against the Jayhawks. First, take the game broadcast off the air. Second, manipulate the officiating. Third, control the outcome of the game. Finally, blame the whole thing on Sun Spots.
Good thing The Jayhawks were having nothing of that mess and prevailed.
I expect CBS to drop their affiliates in Wichita, Topeka, St Louis, and whomever did not go along with the "plan".

Joe, I'd say that Bob Davis hasn't always been bad. But over the past 10 years he's really gone downhill. I can barely stand to listen to him because he is so completely biased, it makes for a miserable listening experience.
On one hand, he is in a group of announcers that are a dying breed. Guys that are as much fans of the team as the people listening. Any up-and-coming announcer that is like that would be thought of as lacking credibility. The way games have been called has changed a lot over the past 25 years...

I've listened to Bob Davis call games since, well, I think it was the (shudder) Valesente era. He's always been a blowhard, jump-the-gun, avid KU cheerleader and occasional play-by-play announcer. With Max's folksy charm Bob was bearable. While I like Piper, he just doesn't have enought presence to counteract Davis' bombast.
Plus he's always seemed a bit tipsy on-air to me. Anybody else occasionally hear that?

I don't get this logic.
I'd much rather listen to the radio broadcast and I wouldn't care if it was the opposing broadcast with two of the biggest homers in the sport. Listening to the broadcast makes you somewhat feel like you're there.
The gamecast is like reading the entire game summary in the box score. blech.
