Is it being too critical of Self to say that his non-recruitment of POINT guards has born a bit of bitter fruit this season? We've got several "combo" guards but none who fit the old KU mold (Calvin, Pritchard, Adonis, JV, Miles, Sherron) of the master playmaker? I give Taylor plenty of shit, but he wasn't ever supposed to be Collins' heir apparent. He got the PG job, and the concommitant flak, because none of the other "combo" guards was any better.
Or am I out of line criticizing this aspect of Self's recruiting?
After all we're Top 5 and pretty damn good without a "true" PG...Comment
