  • Calipari is a terrible coach...

Give Coach Self that team, and they'd be 1st in the SEC, and on their way to the NCAA tournament as a 2 or 3 seed. Calipari has proven this season that he's nothing more than a glorified used car salesman.

We have a glaring hole in the post. While Harrellson is doing yeoman's work in terms of rebounding, he's simply not much of an option as far as scoring. And when he goes to the bench because of fouls or just to get a breather, we go from decent to horrible. Vargas brings absolutely zero to the table. Not sure why, but he's just lost out there. Anymore it's a mini-victory if while he's on the floor he doesn't foul or turn the ball over 3 times.

Bottom line, we're an Enes Kanter away from being a 2 loss team. Of our 7 losses thus far, we were in every game til the end with the exception of the UConn game. Daniel Orton would have been HUGE on this team. Nobody expected him to leave, but thems the breaks.

I really doubt Self could do any better with this team unless he could bring the Morris twins with him.

Cal isn't that bad a coach. He is an absolutely awesome media whore.

Bet Cal wishes he wouldn't have pushed him out the door to get some of that media attention he so badly wanted with all the draft picks.

When you're bottom line is that you're 1 professional player away from being relevant, you've already lost the argument.

You see son, here at KU we believe in something called player development.

            KU's roster

            Tyshawn Taylor: 2008 RSCI #73
            Tyrel Reed: 2007 RSCI #59
            Marcus Morris: 2007 RSCI #65
            Markieff Morris: 2007 RSCI #93
            Brady Morningstar: 2006 RSCI Unrated
            Josh Selby: 2010 RSCI #6
            Thomas Robinson: 2009 RSCI #28
            Royce Woolridge: 2010 RSCI Unranked
            Elijah Johnson: 2009 RSCI #25
            Jeff Withey: 2008 RSCI #28
            Travis Releford: 2008 RSCI #49

            Kentucky's Roster

            Darius Miller: 2008 RSCI #35
            Stacey Poole: 2010 RSCI #50
            Terrance Jones: 2010 RSCI #11
            Brandon Knight: 2010 RSCI #4
            Doron Lamb: 2010 RSCI #26
            Jon Hood: 2009 RSCI #64
            Elroy Vargas: 2008 RSCI #26
            DeAndre Liggins: 2008 RSCI #34
            Josh Harrellson: RSCI Unranked

You're telling me that on a team with 7 top 50 RSCI players (including 4 in the top 26) and 8 ranked in the top 64 of their classes...and really only 1 unranked player on the entire fucking roster that Cal can't keep them from double digit losses?

            Seriously????

But you want us to believe the problem's talent or depth?

BTW, Harrellson is the one unranked player, I'm not counting Jarrod Polson because who the fuck would?

The problem is Cal...unless he's loading up with #1 type pick candidates, he can't do shit...and can't do shit when he has them either really...unless you call an Elite 8 with 2 potential #1 picks and all those 1st rounders a success

LMAO, you do realize we're playing with basically a new team as compared to last year, right? A new team that is painfully thin, consisting of a 6 man rotation. We lost everyone from last year and gained 3 very good freshmen. Cal's been here a little more than a year and a half, hardly enough time to build his bench.

Without Kanter, this is about where I expected UK to be.

Cal's a terrible coach, great recruiter.

There's no reason that UK team with it's soft schedule should be staring down 10 losses

Non-Con came out fairly soft....can't control teams like Memphis/Michigan/Arizona/UCLA/Cal etc all taking dives, looked good when the schedule was set

Exactly, just like UK can't control the SEC being down. UK and KU's SOS are ranked 11th and 12th respectively according to realtimerpi.com. Yes, the difference is KU has won all their games but one, I realize that. I also realize you guys have a much more well rounded, deeper, seasoned team. And yes, we have a lot of talent on our team, but we're uber weak/thin in the post and teams are using it to their advantage.
