  • Q re: The University of Missouri Tigers

guys, hope everyone is massively amped for a massive conference game tonight (B12). Got a couple of MU buds here at the office that say they're going to out-run you HAWKS in tonight's match up. Since me and all my goEMAW buds always root for state before conference we'll be cheering for the HAWKS tonight but I do think that the MU buds might have a point- can a injury riddled Kansas HAWK team run with OL MIZZOU?

One thing is for certain, if the TIGERS/OL MIZZOU wins I bet they will be beating on their giant drum somewhere in Colombia (MO). Jayhawk > TIGER or JAYHAWK < Tiger? It's going to be a battle royale as these two storied programs match up on the hardwood tonight in Lawrence, KANSAS.

All you really have to do to beat Mizzou is have quality guards that don't panic and turn it over against the press.

Likely playing without Selby is probably not the worst thing ever as he tends to not be able to dribble.

And this is why I'm a little nervous to see how Tyshawn performs tonight.

Tyshawn has played against Missouri before, we'll be fine. Chill broseph.

I wouldn't worry about Tyshawn. Your guards have proven that they can take care of the ball unlike Doc Spradling who can't.

At this point, you'd think that Mizzou fans would "get it." KU loves it when teams push the tempo. They thrive on playing at a fast pace. KU struggles when teams try to slow down the pace and force them to guard for long stretches in the halfcourt.

missouri has proven over the past two weeks that they're not a very good team- in the halfcourt or in transition. the only way I see this being at all close is if their myriad of mongloidian guards goes off from deep.

True. I'd still say Mizzou is a pretty good team, but they're awful on the road. Just look at their two games against Colorado... lost by 13 in Boulder and won by 16 in Columbia.

No. Most all Tyshawn's turnovers come in the halfcourt on lazy ball reversal passes or on charges when in the halfcourt offense.

He very very rarely turns it over when dribbling against pressure and is definitely the guy I want leading the break. As opposed to Selby, who can't dribble to save his life, and turns it over on 90% of the breaks he is leading.

lol no. But he can't dribble and he is about as good as Withey at running the break.

Honestly he can shoot, but he hasn't done much more than that.
