We only care about who is the best in March/early April. Although it's fun conjecture, it's a little silly to crown somebody "the best" in January. Almost as silly as bragging about a #3 preseason ranking.

                Maybe A&M is overrated.

                Just a thought.

Tejas is the team to beat right now IMO.

Of course that can all change in the blink of an eye.

KU absolutely blew Texas out of the water in the 1st half of their recent matchup. The guys just didn't have anything left in the tank in that 2nd half, after grieving over the loss of Robinson's mother the night before until about 5:00 AM. Texas is really good, but they played KU during a point in time when the entire team was experiencing an emotional rollercoaster.

That was the only regular season matchup.
We play them for the Conference Tournament title pretty regularly.

Ahh...didn't realize you only played them once.

We play them twice starting next year in the new realigned Big 12.

This is a popular meme among KU fans. I call bullshit. They should be professional enough to withstand emotions, even the death of one of their bench player's mothers. **Cue the "They're just kids!" auto-defense**

Simple fact is that after the intial 10 minutes of KU romping, the Longhorns systematically took KU apart and KU did little on either end to mount a comeback. This was the blueprint of the Jayhawks' weakness: lack of focus leading to sloppy play that gets exploited by a skilled and talented team.

You can refer to this post again after the season is over.
