Jayhawks vs Howland's Bastages

So the game last night about killed me. It's barely December and I about ha an aneurism. Thoughts on the game??

As everyone is well aware our free throw shooting SUCKED! Our rebounding was pathetic, and I'm afraid that will be our Achilles. WTH is going on with Marcus? The guy has disappeared the last 2 games it seems.

All I'm saying is our free throw shooting was poor last night. Our rebounding might hurt us in the future. And I am concerned about Marcus' diet. Pretty sure they guy has bean eating steak bombs and thus hasn't played to his highest potential. Sure hope he gets to feeling better!!

I was told by a K-State fan today that we didn't deserve to win because the ref's gave it to us. I laughed.

Funny ending. Howland is whining about how you can't call a foul in that situation, as are some of his players. Opposing fans are saying that the refs handed the game to us, as you don't call a foul in that situation. The one thing I'm noticing is that NOBODY is saying that Little wasn't fouled, and NOBODY is calling out the UCLA player as being brain-dead for fouling. I find the whole thing strange.

Our free throw shooting did suck. But thats something that can be fixed. We have good shooters, they just have to concentrate.

Our rebounding sucked. But how often are you going to face a 6-9 300+ baby Dexter Pittman beast? We really don't have anyone to match up with a guy like that and it showed.

Marcus is fine. He brought it the second half. Dissappeared against Arizona? Seriously? Did you watch that game?

The biggest thing for me is really needing that 3rd big time guard. Selby needs to bring it. Brady showed last night. Didn't do anything, which is expected. We can win and be good with him, but we can't be a National Championship team with him playing 25 minutes. Its just too hard to play 4 or 4 and a half on five on offense.

Partly Brady's fault for not running into the guy and showing it, he really didn't fight very hard at all through that screen. Not that it would have mattered, but it exposes the moving screen a lot more.

Also, at that point in the game you HAVE to go over that screen...not under. Sure, we may go under the rest of the game, but there they have to have a 3, you always go over.

Bullshit we missed a switch. Brady and Marcus are not going to switch guys. Marcus would hedge, and Brady would recover, they are not switching.
Marcus did step out and get a hand up.

Its just good coachspeak. Don't call anyone out for effing it up. I bet it was a little different answer today in practice after watching film on it.

My point is still, at that point in the game it doesn't matter. You go over top of that screen every time in that position. A 2 for them doesn't matter. Let the guy slip it free and contest the pass but double the 3 point shooter if you have to.
