Agree, a bit strange. However, the Big East is a BCS conference and TCU could possibly have a better shot at a championship BCS game, depending on many factors, of course.

they're going to get absolutely destroyed in basketball...they could barely be competitive in the MW

If you have seen their gym/facilities, you wouldn't be surprised the only talent they get are Croatian juco castoffs. Seriously one of the worst gyms I have witnessed.
Their football (new one underway) and baseball facilities are very nice and they should be very competitive in those sports. Well maybe those March baseball games in Pittsburgh and Rhode Island won't be nice.

Rutgers
Saint John'sSt.
Seton Hall

Do all of these teams have football? Looks like we'll be seeing TCU in the title game sometime soon.

TCU makes 9 in football.
They either invited or are thinking of inviting Villanova to join to make it ten.
Notre Dame is independent, and will leave the Big East before they join with their football team.
It makes sense for TCU. Continue to build your football image by playing in a BCS conference. They'll wait for the Big 12 to call (if that happens) and then jump again. This is their 4 conference since the SWC folded.

Are there any plans for TCU to upgrade their stadium? You'd think with the recent success, they'd be clamoring for something that holds more that 44k.
Also, if they bump their football stadium up to 50-60k, I'd be all for adding them to the mix of the Big 12. I just don't know who the 12th team would be.

why take TCU? We have enough Texas teams already and doesn't add much to us as a conference. I'd say snag Louisville from the Big East. Adds football and bball. Neither are great, but it's a new market and adds more than Colorado brought to the table.
