        Most likely, yes

I put a code into the game and they let me have a KU vs. EHS game in the heisman trail mode on NCAA

it was close, but Emporia won

The only way to trump your WAC news is with even more obscure realignment news:

Southern Utah is going to be joining the Big Sky conference. Don't have a source yet, but Goodman (Fox Sports) thinks it will be announced today.

This WAC news is of national interest, RandyTheUnhelpfulPeen. Big-time FBS schools need to know which schools they will be able to bodybag in the future.

honestly, how does Utah support so many D-1 football programs?

Re: Conference Realignment Armageddon Bunker Thread

An interesting article on what's driving Big East expansion talks. It sounds like the power conferences are interested in adding in-conference games for the sake of:

                  (A) - Cutting costs on cupcakes.
                  (B) - Adding more in-house content to their inventory (it makes sense for those with networks or pitching deals).

Re: Conference Realignment Armageddon Bunker Thread

It looks like the Big East schools are going to expand to 10 football teams per Mandel and Forde.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be a sailing ship.

Update: word on the street is that this is a precursor move to an ACC raid on the Big East.

Update 2: Joe Schad is saying it is going to be 'Nova and TCU.

Re: Conference Realignment Armageddon Bunker Thread

The NYPost is speculating now. Apparently, the 16 members agreed to add two football schools, but did NOT want to bring in another basketball school, which means two things:

                      1. A current basketball member (Nova) could upgrade football and join the league

                      2. A school could agree to be a football only member. This means that any school that joins would have to break off basketball with their current conference, as well. There is some sort of obscure NCAA rule that prevents teams from having separate league affiliations in football and basketball. The caveat is if a conference doesn't support FBS football (like the Missouri Valley), a team could send their b-ball and non-rev sports there while joining the Big East. Notre Dame and BYU get an exemption because they are 'Independent' in football.

Confused? Imagine if you were a Big East fan? That conference is starting to look like a life raft made out of debris that washed up on shore.

Re: Conference Realignment Armageddon Bunker Thread

TCU's AD came out and said he wants the full package if they are going to make a move to another conference. This means that the Big East would have to divest a basketball only school in order to add TCU, or go to 17 schools in the b-ball conference.

The costs involved from FCS to FBS are very high. Adding scholarships, trying to maintain attendance at a certain level, selling yourself to lose games. Montana has such a good thing going for them. It doesn't hurt to stay where you are at and avoid playing in a crappy FBS conference.
