Is anyone else extremely surprised by this team? I thought they'd be better (not saying much cuz they sucked last year), but damn does this defense look incredible so far. The coaching staff is also creative with the playcalling.

I said a few weeks ago that Cassel needed to have a line before he can be evaluated, but he makes some really bad throws. He gets saved by some explosive players on offense. Moeaki and McCluster both made his throws work today. He had a great throw for Bowe on the flea flicker, but that's it. This team will be very good with a few more pieces in place.

First time in a while I'm excited on Sundays.

BTW, anyone know why Crennel does hand signals to call in plays and not have a player with a ear piece?

      This was hilarious.

But yes, I'm surprised, but I love it. This team is just fun to watch on both sides of the ball. They have athletes all over the field. If Matty Cassell can just stay out of the way, this team can make some noise. Or at least be a team that no one wants to play.

        Re: Chiefs

Already with a 2 game lead over the division. I guess ESPN wasn't too far off after all.

The NFC West is godawful this year, I don't think the Chiefs will have too much trouble beating St. Louis or Arizona in KC. It's doubtful that Seattle is as good as they seem to be, but it will be a road game for KC.

Oakland always sucks, the Bills are a mess, and Jacksonville doesn't look anything like they did in Week 1.

If the Chiefs are for real this year, those are 7 games they stand an above average chance of winning. They probably wouldn't even have to win all of them to make the playoffs. As bad as the AFC West is, 8-8 would probably take the Division.

It would be kind of funny to see the division champion Chiefs host the wildcard Colts in January.

It would also be a nightmare.

You'd be lying if you said you weren't surprised. They looked pretty good today. I don't know how much credit SF should get for that.

SF played New Orleans pretty tough last week and is a pretty talented group of individuals (note, I didn't say team)

Chiefs are starting with the basics

              great special teams
              great run defense
              great running game

the rest will fall into place there

I find it hard to believe this is even some of the same players as last year. You can question the competition if you want, but last year, the Chiefs lost a combined score of 80-21 to the Chargers. They lost 41-34 at the end of the year to Cleveland and gave up the 3rd most rushing yards in league history to Jerome Harrison.

If you've watched the 3 games of this year and watched last year as well....the difference is night and day.

There is only ONE bar in Munich that shows NFL. I tried to get them to show KC-SF last night, but local Americans already told them the best game of Sunday would be Atlanta-New Orleans. And what a hell of a game that was, while I enjoyed watching the Chiefs score climb higher every 15 minutes.

Not to be too happy, but damn, 3-0, I'm feeling the excitement again. Been a long while.

Yes, 3-0 is pretty good. They looked their best yesterday. The D looks good. Flowers is turning out nicely. Once Berry gets used to the NFL, he's going to be good too. Jones, Charles, and McCluster are ball players. Charles runs a lot like Holmes would. Using these guys also takes the ball out of Cassel's hands, which is a good thing. Moeaki had an awesome catch to save a terrible throw by Cassel. Cassel's getting better, but I still don't think he is any good at football.

not even Whitlock can deny that this team is massively improved over last year (he has been trying all season though, after both of our first 2 wins he made smart ass comments)

You know I wrote off the Cheifs a few years ago. Pretty much dumped all pro football. WHY did I have to watch the game yesterday?!? WHY?!? They freaking sucked me in! May have to dust off the old Priest Holmes jersey.

Priest was at the game on the sidelines on Sunday. He still supports us. Gotta go with him.
