  • Matt Cassell

is starting to sink to Jamarcus Russell type lows

I've been one of his biggest defenders on some Chiefs boards, but tonight was just flat out inexcusable

One of the worst performances I've ever seen from a quarterback, rain or not

      Re: Matt Cassell

I was there, and neither of you guys know what you're talking about. The flags on the goalpost changed direction by the second. Before the rain/storms came the wind was bad enough to change the flight of a ladder golf/hill billy golf/red neck golf ball(and rope). I was in 3 inches of standing water in my row, the wind was changing directions and swirling for 3 quarters, and it poured from halfway through the first quarter til the end of the game... it's awesome to see fans criticize from their dry seats. Everyone around us recognized that the ball sailed because of the weather. And that includes Cassel and Rivers, granted they actually went to the game and knew the conditions.

BTW, our offensive line sucks total ass, and has since he got here. How about we put a line in front of him and give him some targets before judging his talent.

Rivers completed a pass longer than 30 yards, Cassel didn't.

I liked how he looked as if he won the Super Bowl at the end of the game.

That was the Super Bowl for the Chefs. They got their win out of the road early this year. Now they can just suck the rest of the year without getting anyones expectations raised.

True enough, but my comment was more regarding Cassel acting like he was hot shit when he did, effectively, NOTHING to help his team.

The post game interview was worse than his performance. The interviewer prompted him 3 different times to thank the fans who sat through rain and shitty conditions. Matt never got the hint. He instead thanked himself, his coaches and his teammates. 3 times. Never a mention of the fans.

Rivers completed because of completely blown coverage which he still underthrew the guy and the guy had to slow down and catch it. There wasn't anyone in 25 yards of that guy.

Bowe dropped a 40 yard pass on the very first play of the game, and there were about 4 other drops that I counted. This is a team that set the record in dropped passes last year. We also have a line that gives him about 3 seconds before he's leveled.

If he has many more games like that, the Chiefs will not get more than 5 wins.

Didn't they run a stat that the Chiefs until midway through the 3rd quarter had only run like 3 plays inside SD territory. They were lucky to scrape out a win. The 12th man (crowd) and 13th man (rain) are the reason's the Chiefs won. But since they did win, everyone in Kansas City will think they are awesome now. 7 out of 12 possessions (excluding the punt return) were 3 and outs.

They were dominated in yardage and time of possession. Epic failure sometimes = win.

The Chiefs were really dominated that game. And shouldn't have won.

And Cassell sucks. Anyone defending him needs to actually watch him play. I've said since they got him, the trade for him wasn't a terrible idea, especially with what they had. The contract was fucking stupid because he is not good. Croyle is a far better quarterback, he just can't stay on the field (mostly due to o-line being shitty).
