Intriguing or the dumbest idea you've ever heard of?

    https://www.fcf.io/home

I have no desire to read through their entire website, but the way I understand it is you sign up as a fan of one of the four teams in the league, then you call the plays in real time. Well, actually you vote on the plays with other fans of that team. I'm sure there has to be a cost involved but I'm tempted to sign up as a fan of the Zappers simply to see if I can get Johnny Manziel to call a play where he tackles the beer vendor.

Haha, the fact that they made it to this message board in the first place is a good sign. A good friend of mine worked with them for several years until recently.

I think they're ahead of their time, but they have some interesting ideas. For example, they'll play all their games in the same place and its built to be a TV studio first and an event venue second.

I dunno, these offseason football ventures never seem to stick. I get that this will ostensibly have lower overhead and isn't meant to resemble "actual" football, but still. But I agree with beakum, for this to be a draw it needs to really lean into the stupidity and shamelessness angles. If a coalition of Twitter users wants to see Johnny Football throw the ball at the other coach's nuts 10 times a game it should be allowed.

This sounds like it will end up as the Professional Wrasslin' of football.

        Same fans, anyway.

I can’t imagine how they’d run this without the games eventually getting fixed. I’d give it one game max before that happened. And if not from a true gambling standpoint, it would be ripe for money laundering.

Still, it’s an interesting concept. I’ve wondered for a while what games would look like if, KU for instance, had a professional Madden team in the skybox calling plays as a crowdsourced OC or DC. Give them the players’ limitations and let them run wild.

Yeah, your first sentence alone is pretty compelling. But like you say, their expenses are different too.

Sports betting being legal may open up different revenue opportunities than other ventures have had. The price the sportsbooks will pay for a first time deposit from a sports bettor is eye-popping.
