  • Ow.

I just suffered my worst mountain biking crash yet. I was on the final mile of the river trail and I tried to get too much air on the steepest, longest downhill section of the trail, ended up riding down half of the hill solely on my front tire, and then my tire got stuck sideways against a root at the bottom of the hill and I went head-over-heels, slammed into the ground, and my bike flipped over on top of me. Luckily, I managed to put my hand up to prevent my face from getting jacked by the rear disc brake.

The entire right side of my body is bruised and scratched, but at least I didn't break anything. This is why you always wear a helmet, kids (which I was).

Most important question, how's the rig?

        Human body heals, mtbs don't.

            Re: Ow.

I have strong wheels, so luckily I didn't taco the tire, but I managed to throw it out of true quite a bit and will have to get it fixed before my next ride so I don't rub the front disc.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning. Oh well. RICE is my friend.

              Re: Ow.

Took me about two hours to get out of bed this morning. I'm now back in bed covered by ice packs. I think I bruised a kidney and tore some intercostals in the side/back of my rib cage to go along with the contusions on my thigh, shoulder, and elbow.

              I guess I'm not 21 anymore, sheeeeiiiiiiit.
