In all actuality, I'd say it was an assistant that blocked you. I'd also guess they have some software that scans the tweets for key words and phrases (both for choosing something to respond to, and for choosing something to block/report). If even just 1% of his followers tweeted him something in a day, that would be 1,200 tweets.

Whitlock on the other hand? Definitely believe it was him that personally blocked you. I think that guy could engage in tweet action all day long if he had the time.
