I hate the cover of Depeche Mode "Enjoy the Silence" by Maritime. This song was a favorite of mine when I was younger. I thought the lead singer butchered it.

ditto for the tokyo police club singer.....the music for their billy squier cover is great though

after only seeing about 6 or 7 of these....ben folds covering e.smith is my favorite so far

Agreed. He wasn't that great of a singer to begin with and trying to emulate Depeche Mode's vocals is difficult.

Ted Leo gets my vote. I liked Clem Snide's cover a lot as well except didn't like how he played the chorus at all.
