I was fortunate enough to get some pretty awesome and big-ticket GI Joe, Star Wars, and He-Man stuff (Millennium Falcon, AT/AT, greyskull, snake mountain, badass stuff) but I never get my hands on the damn USS Flagg. I would just stare at the Penny's xmas catalog and dream...

This guy is a bad motherfucker. I finally got him when I was about 9. I imagined him killing whitey.



The first two years I asked for the black G.I. Joe, with LIFE-LIKE NEGRO HAIR, my parents thought I was joking. But my best friend in elementary school was a black kid (the 2nd best friend was Puerto Rican). So I think somehow I identified more with non-whites. My oldest brother used to joke about me having black girlfriends it was so bad.

I too had the black GI Joe - I didn't ask for it, that's just the one my dad got me - He's an artist and he was in his "black is beautiful" phase.

He fought my friend Shane's white Joe with the Kung-Fu grip to see which Joe got to strip down and get busy with Molly's Barbie.

On an unrelated note, years later I got to strip down and get busy with Molly.
