  • Mike's Hard Lemonade/Limeade/etc.

Yeah, so it's still 4000 degrees Kelvin in Florida. I started buying cases of this stuff, Mike's Hard Lemonade, as a change of pace from beer. Usually I would just get cider -- Woodchuck, Magner's, Strongboner, Woodpecker -- to break up beers during a good days drinking session. But, damn, the first case of Mike's went down quickly and I bought more at BJ's (about $25 for 24 bottles). Three cases in and I'm starting to realize that this stuff is total crap.

    What say the Wheat?

Funny note: I'm not sure if it's just Florida law or if it says so in Kansas, but the label on the bottle says, in large bold letters "FLAVORED BEER." So I guess they brew tasteless beer and dump in fruit flavors?

I am not one to judge AT ALL....and if you enjoy it that's great...

          but I am surprised

I had to chug four of these on a dare and it made me puke...a lot...WAY too much sugar

then again..the first beer I ever had was a warm guinness...chugged on a dare...and it made me puke as well so what do I know

Way too much sugar for me. I also hate how their commercials try to make it look like it's "tough".

Try a pint of boulevard wheat, mixed with a shot of bacardi limon, and a nice squeeze of fresh lemon.

            Or Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy.

You should have figured out that chugging beer makes you puke.

The question I have is who needs a change of pace from beer?

So was I but that doesn't mean you should eat me. Stick to the stuff we do better than anyone - bourbon.

Reminds me too much of wine coolers, which I had entirely too much of back in the 80's.

I'm fully admitting I'm wrong about this goop. So your jeers, while expected, are nothing truly damaging.

It's not as heinous as Smirnoff Ice, but that's not saying much. It's not nearly as bad as some of you macho types are making it. I'd drink one over a Moosehead or, yes, a Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat (gack) any day of any week.

Full disclosure: I am having a Black Cherry one right now, and sorta enjoying it.

Mikes Hard Lemonade over a Boulevard? Can the mods please close Hoopo's account? I fear an imposter has hacked his account and is trying to take him down.

How would one go about starting an online intervention? Anyone have any guns?
