The People's Choice - New Moderator Setup

Ladies and Gents, the Staff here at WtW have decided to move forward on a new system for selecting Moderators.

A Moderator will be elected for a 6 month term. At that point a new Moderator will be selected to fill their place. This will be a rolling 6 months as new Moderators are added, so that there is never a mass changing of guard.

We would also like to involve all of you in the selection process. Nominations will be held, and those interested will be placed into a pole. The peoples choice will count as 1 of 4 votes (the 2 admins, and a staff vote).

At this time we would like to take nominations for a new Moderator. Thank You and Good Day!

At this point it is about nominations. Once that list is set we will extend an offer to be part of the vote. If they aren't interested then they have every opportunity to turn down that offer.

Currently there are approx. 250 registered users, maybe a hundred that post much, and 2 admins and a Mod.
That sounds like a lot for the volume so far.
Good moderators have to be able to spend a lot of time on the site and that should eliminate a good number of users. Good moderators need pretty thick skin and a slow trigger finger. When you find them you should encourage them to stay.
So far it's been the wild west here, no corporate owners or sponsors to worry about and I think the only thing that I have noticed is a thread or two moved to the outhouse. That will change as the site grows and more users start playing regularly.
A universal charge made against board moderation is inconsistent application of policy and a revolving door of moderators won't help in that regard.

Limehawk and Joe Norris seem reasonable and could make good moderators, if they are interested.
