Honestly, now both sites are rather lame

The Ghetto MS/Paint thread was clearly epic, but it's a shame that the aftermath seems to have killed the original "magic" that was so longstanding.

Sure, this site has many of the same posters. And the other site still does too. But no matter which site you're on, does anyone else get the sense that the vibe is just not there any more? It's like both sides are trying way too hard.

Half the threads here still reference TOS, from deciding which phrases to lift to condemning it. While half the threads on TOS are complaining about the AIDZ or talking about lame cell phones.

It's too bad things had to happen the way they did, because right now both boards feel pretty watered down. This isn't a criticism, just an observation.

Anyone else share that sentiment?

I don't know, this place is going to be fine. I'm sure that the original Phog wasn't huge the first 3 weeks that it was up and running. There are many of the better posters from TOS that have migrated over here and hopefully they have found a new home and will find enough things that will keep them posting here on a consistent basis.

The one thing that I could see causing it to be a problem for many posters is the influx of some of the ass hats that have been sprouting up around here. Yesterday afternoon was brutal with these shit heads. Time will tell.

No, I'm merely lamenting that we had a great thing going, and it's too bad circumstances (and people) let it spiral out of control.

Whether it's partly due to the MS Paint thread...or the Ban-o-matic...or Tom's viewpoint...or the malware...or any of a dozen other reasons, we now have two "lite" versions of a board rather than one strong one.

And I couldn't care less where that board resides - I wish good things to both sites.
