  • Musical Re-Discoveries?

Ever just randomly listen to an artist on your iPod or whatever that you haven't listened to in a while and just fall in love all over again?

I had that with Alanis Morissette today, "So-Called Chaos". Some nice cuts on there.

I've been on a Devo kick lately, especially their first four albums. What a hoot they were. In my Hardcore Punk Rock days I rejected thier jaggy melodies and preternatural spasticism. Now, I'm a teenager again and Devo is the coolest shit ever.

David Bowie (yes, I have always known he was awesome, but recently I'm listening non-stop)

Every time I go outside to watch a meteor shower, I end up thinking about light pollution, which inevitably leads me to think of the song Face Pollution off of Badmotorfinger by Soundgarden, so in light (haha) of having checked out the Perseids last week, I've since been listening to that album.

Really underrated stuff that gets overlooked in the whole grunge pantheon of usual suspects.

an older Less Than Jake record popped up a few days ago and I've been on a pretty strong kick since.

Steely Dan for some reason. I couldn't hardly listen to them growing up. Now I really like them.

I have the original soundtrack that has some of those songs on it but wasn't aware there was a full blown album.

I've also been on an early Bowie jag, ever since I watched the BBC series that his song inspired, "Life on Mars?"
