Very interesting news on the COVID front today. It now appears that one dose of the Pfizer vaccine is nearly as effective as two doses. News stories today are reporting on follow-up studies that say the Pfizer vaccine is 85% effective after only one dose. The second bit of news: the vaccine does NOT have to be stored at the ultra-cold temps that they were originally stating.
That first bit of news may be the most significant because it effectively doubles the number of people that can be vaccinated. Pfizer is expected to deliver two billion doses of their vaccine to the public by year end. If the FDA and the WHO go along with the new data, that means two billion people can be vaccinated instead of half that number.
