  • Protocol for Adopting Old Jokes

Curious as to what the thoughts on carrying on jokes from TOS would be.

i.e. Morans, Germans, Bennie Rhodes, $10,000 decisions, marathons, ski pants, MichaelSean etc.

Not sure how to accompany this with appropriate poll, pole, pöle.

I'm torn on the issue because fuck TOS, but I do find the nostalgia and laughter they bring amusing.

i think WtW's "say whatever the fuck you want to say" policy answers your question.

KSTHANE started a thread where he sold some bootleg TJMaxx ski pants on Ebay and the guy got his money back after filing a claim through Ebay claiming they were the wrong size and were misrepresented. Hilarity ensued. The thread is in the hall on TOS.

Re: Protocal for Adopting Old Jokes

My opinion is that Tom and his Mods came up with exactly ZERO of the valuable content that made that site great c.2003-2008. It was us, the users, who generated the ideas. So since we, collectively, came up with our own brand of fun, we can take it wherever we want.

This site split from Phog.net, but, as we've all seemed to keep connections (usernames, avatars) from TOS, we're THE REAL PHOG right here.

I personally don't care much about referencing old Phog jokes or not, but we should probably refrain from posting screenshots or copy-paste of Scout content, i.e. message board screenshots, premium articles, etc. That can probably get the admins of this site in trouble, no?

You may be right about that. ICT or Jayhawker know for sure? Does Scout have a history of being that attentive to legal issues about people using "their" content?

Does this mean...Scout owns the Hightower thread over there?

Re: Protocal for Adopting Old Jokes

I would think that open forums aren't a problem. I wouldn't post from Premium probably. I know that last week when we were posting in threads to pull traffic over several WtW posters admonished us for not just going "cold turkey" on the phog. I really could care less, but, I think we need to stand on our own and produce our own content.

Scout does not own my photoshop of Ed Hightower fisting that Louisville cheerleader. At least, I hope not. Pretty sure Tom deleted that one.

Stay away from posting Premium stuff here, that could get this site shut down.
