Several good ones, I love it's a wonderful life. Is it bad that I've never seen die hard? Why is it a holiday movie?

Die Hard is basically just a modern remake of It's a Wonderful Life with a few extra action scenes.

Ok, I am a bit more traditional:

      1. Miracle on 34th Street (1947 Version)
      2. A Christmas Carol (1951 Version)
      3. Holiday Inn
      4. A Christmas Story
      5. Dr. Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (This is the cartoon version)
      6. The Bishop's Wife
      7. Christmas in Connecticut (1945 Version)
      8. White Christmas
      9. The Lemon Drop Kid
      10. The Bells of St Mary's

I am choosing to believe okj is trolling people who think they're being original by promoting the idea of Die Hard as a Christmas movie.

Meh, I think it's been a Christmas movie for a lot of people for a long time. Especially for those of us who have zero religious backgrounds and prefer comedy and action movies that don't get sappy and reflect on the "meaning" of Christmas.

An excellent sleeper Christmas movie is The Ice Harvest. I watch it every year around Christmas. Very underrated flick.

            Also In Bruges.

Am I the only one who thinks Elf stinks? I've tried to watch it but have never made it all the way through. What's the appeal?

You’re not alone. Elf isn’t completely horrible, but once was enough for me.

I hate Elf. I’ve seen it probably 5 or 6 times, so I gave it a chance.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is by far my favorite movie listed in this thread so far.

I watch It's a Wonderful Life most Decembers, but not always.

Groundhog Day might be the best holiday movie.

Alastair Sim is the GOAT Scrooge. The 1951 film is objectively the best adaptation.
