I wish we had a person here who knew something about films. A "fanatic", if you will, who could opine about it.

I'll see it on video. I have severe Michael Cera fatigue right now.

I wonder if you'll have Jesse Eisenberg fatigue soon.

Can stomach more Eisenberg than Cera, unless it's Arrested Development.

I haven't seen it yet... I probably will Monday or Tuesday.
It can't be as bad as EAT PRAY LOVE that I got drug to last night.

Why, oh why did you go see Eat Pray Love? And don't blame it on your wife, that's a lazy excuse and you can always say no.

Re: Scott Pilgrim--80% on RT
I hate to be the downer but I really didn't like this movie. I thought for sure that I would....all my friends have raved about it, it has received great reviews, and I normally really LOVE these sort of unconventional, "creative", indie movies. I had high hopes but I didn't get into it AT ALL. I didn't like any of the characters and the whole thing just made my head hurt.
My husband didn't like it either.....and again, I really thought this would be in his wheelhouse. We ditched a party early and spontaneously decided to see the latest showing of this last night....so maybe it was just that we were too tired or the fact that the theatre seats were very uncomfortable (wah, wah, wah). For whatever reason, we had a bad experience and ended up walking out about 45 minutes before it ended.

I've read some breathy reviews of it and now to read Sam&Ben's review right underneath 24's...I don't know what to think. 24 is usually on target, so I might give in and hit the multiplex soon.

Don't let my review sway you that much. I am clearly in the minority. fwiw, I usually agree with 24's reviews as well. I "got" what this movie was supposed to be about and I normally have no problem suspending reality for movies that tell a story in a unique way. Quite frankly, I just found it boring. Not to mention, I loathed Kieran Culkin.

Re: Scott Pilgrim--80% on RT
I really loved it. Tons of fun the whole way through. Whoever was in charge of casting did a great job; the ladies who played Knives and Kim Pine were perfect for their roles. Great theater movie and perfect for any nostalgia gamer. And Ann-Hog (her?)!!
Yeah, Kieran Culkin kind of sucked.

Re: Scott Pilgrim--80% on RT
I don't think that you have to be a gamer to enjoy the movie.
My wife was bored to tears (we also went pretty early in the morning). I didn't tell her anything about it going in, only that it was directed by the guy who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I think she expected more british humor, and maybe Simon Pegg.
