  • Help Me Get To Auburn

I'm going to a football game there in mid-October. I'm debating whether to fly or drive.

Anybody that travels there frequently have good options?

    TIA.

I have traveled there exactly once and I can tell you that Auburn, Alabama is exactly 11.5 miles from Bumfuck, Nowhere.

    Hope that helps.

I'd drive. Nothing beats the open road.

My parents lived there for three years. It's a really long drive to KC. If you fly, you'll fly to Atlanta and drive from there. It's about 1.5-2 hours from Atlanta, although you'll go through a time change so you have to add or subtract an hour to get there. I would definitely fly.

PS Have fun. I get hated on for this on the Phog but I love going to SEC football games.

Why did you get hated on?

Drive a U-Haul with all of your shit in it. Maybe this is your chance to get the fuck out of Kansas.

I saw a few flights that take me through Memphis, Atlanta, and DFW. I know DFW is awful...how much worse (or better) is Atlanta?

What would you be going 'through' Atlanta to?

Atlanta's airport is huge, extremely crowded and one of the world's busiest. I've never had a problem going through there except for when I had a layover. I don't think security is that bad, it at least never was when my parents lived there (2004-2007). But it's your best option if you're going to get to Auburn by flight.

                  Birmingham(?), I guess.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Birmingham is close to the same distance as the Atlanta airport. It'd be easier to just stop in Atlanta rather than connect and get to Birmingham.

Ah, got you, had a brain fart there. I'll rent a car and take 85 and get there in a couple of hours.

Nice to have a direct flight anyway.
