So with all the talk about teh Aidz and whatnot, can one of you computer wizards make a list of programs recommended to keep on a flash drive in case of infection?

And while this is probably a pretty silly question, how exactly do you put a program onto a flash drive?

Anything besides Malwarebytes, Seek & Destroy, and HijackThis?

I don't even do that anymore. I use ultimate boot dongle, or use hirens boot cd. They will both clean viruses.

There have been times it found/cleaned infections none of the others did.

McAfee publishers a free tool called stinger that helps get rid of viruses.
It's updated constantly so you have to have a connection somewhere that you can access.

If you use that hosts file it has most bad sites, ads and whatnot mapped to redirect you back to your machine, which is 127.0.0.1. In other words, if the AIDZ tries to get you to go to a bad place to catch a disease, this hosts file sends you back to your own computer instead. It also won't let you go to a skanky place to begin with.

This thing is huge but it does not slow you down one bit. It is loaded as soon as your machine starts and your PC references it whenever you try to go somewhere. If the location is marked in the hosts file, you just come on home to your own PC.

This is kind of simplistic but I hope it helps. You should look at the file. It's pretty all-encompassing. I've been using it for a year or so now and have NEBBER CAUGHT TEH AIDZ!!!!11111
