If you don't have something that requires a will to pass properly, they aren't really necessary. If you are the remaining marriage partner, you probably need one to deal with real property and who gets Mom's ring.
Interests in a business are another matter and I only spent one night in a Holiday Inn Express.

Yes, some wills are created in trust to skip probate.
If I ever have enough shit to have a will, then I may go this rout. What is funny is most people don't fight about money in a will, siblings will tear the family apart over the little shit like jewelry and china and rocking chairs and photo albums. Just label that shit.
