    Quit.

When simple speech in the free marketplace of ideas is censored, you know you're on the wrong team.

Re: An Open Call to Phog.net Moderators

In the interest of playing the devil's advocate, do you feel this board can flourish without more stringent moderation? I ask because I assume a lot of people won't get on this site a work. Not because I'm not interested in what's going on here, but the laissez faire approach to moderation can be risky for people in an office setting. Tits aside, there are plenty of things on the "SFW" board that could get people into trouble. Again, none of this necessarily applies to me, but it might be something that needs to be considered in the future.

Henry, what are the things that can get people in trouble? I am not being a smart ass, I just want to know what you have seen that has raised a red flag.

Henry, I'm not concerned about people utilizing their free time however they wish to, whether at work or not. Because you're 'at work' is not a valid reason to hinder the free flow of communication. Is it?

I do not write for the opinion of any person but myself.

This thread, in case you missed it, is about those who choose to endorse the level of censorship that Phog.net has lowered itself to, not the relative freedom of this site. I hope further inquiries are aimed at the subject instead of trying to take the thread in a different direction.

        Thanks for your support.

Off the top of my head, I'd guess avatars and language, although language may be a bit of a stretch. What I think will ultimately bite people in the ass, is the rule that NSFW threads will be moved to the NSFW board. It doesn't look like there is any consequence for those who do it. The more popular this site becomes, the more people you'll find who want to push the envelope.

I can respect that. I'm just not sure where you wanted to go with this thread. Do you expect phog moderators come over and reply, or was this just a message you wanted them to read? If it's the latter, that's fine, but you probably should have locked it after your original post. Otherwise, I feel like my initial response was perfectly reasonable.

LOL. I'm sure the JhawkBlvd's "I had a squirter last night" thread ist totally safe for work. If you are stupid enough to click on a thread taht might get you in trouble, that's your fault not the boards. The outhouse keeps the tits and ass there. And it's glorious.

I agree, it is glorious. What I'm saying is what's stopping someone from starting a thread about The Simpsons and posting a picture of Homer blowing his load on Marge's tits? Funny? Hell yes. Appropriate for people at work? Probably not. Even if gets moved to the NSFW forum, what are the ramifications for the person who did it? Moving the thread isn't much of a deterrent, and banning them will spark the same type of controversy we now see on phog. Everyone's idea of NSFW is going to be different, and therein lies the risk.

Yeah, it's an open message to the Phog mods, who obviously read this board.

They won't post any of my comments on Tom's precious Scout site, A SITE I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR, then I'll post my comments here.

Jesus Christ folks. I don't know where you work but if I don't keep my shit straight here, where I work, then ANY kind of non-work related internet use can come back to haunt me. They don't use it unless "needed" but keystroke recording software can pretty much doom any employee if they became a target. They don't publicize this much for obvious reasons and they also don't abuse that technology but it is a great ace in the hole when dealing with fuckups. I can understand the mushy middle ground as most work places seem to allow a certain level of non-work internet browsing and we're most likely a collection of time-wasters here but your first mistake was even coming to such a website. You're just looking to make gradations of wrong.......

I say let em have it! Go Hoopo!!
