We also just did that recently. I heart Netflix streaming.

Re: Never watched an episode of Lost

I watched the first two seasons, then got tired of the show bringing up questions which were never answered and moving on to new plot lines, which again, were never answered. Piece of shit show.

I've spent my entire winter break watching every single episode of How I Met Your Mother.

I have a man crush on Jason Segel.

I just did this with Prison Break. Part of me is glad I finally finished it so I can go back to being a social human being again.

                  It happens every winter break.

I get insanely bored and end up watching a series for days on end, usually a comedy. Last year it was Arrested Development.

Re: Never watched an episode of Lost

                    I'd categorize Lost like this:

                    Season 1 - Great
                    Season 2 - Good - Great
Season 3 - Now that you are hooked-- here are some extraneous story arcs that will leave you asking 'wtf'?
Season 4 - We're clearly jerking you around now.
Season 5 - You're still watching? I guess we'll have everyone act out of character for the sake of filler episodes and crazy twists.
Season 6 - Ok, we'll explain a few things, but it'll be on par with getting socks for Christmas.

It's a bit of a time sink. There are some great episodes, but they developed too many characters and arcs to do them all justice when they were trying to wrap things up. Also-- they made a big mistake when they decided that Vincent the Dog deserved more episodes than Shannon.

Never heard of this. Please describe it to me in 50 words or less.

Also, Better Off Ted is excellent and both seasons are available on Netflix streaming.

It's a show on Showtime. Imagine Gladiator + Porn + shitty blood effects. Literally the just have random bitches in the background naked or fucking. Every single character has a fuck buddy.

Just know this going in: the show, despite all it's cool trappings, is not in the realm of science fiction, but rather fantasy. It gets very magical/mystical in it's final season and most of the fifth season. LOST's creators, notably excepting original honcho J.J. Abrams (who left the show creatively after the second season), made the pretense publicly that everything would have a real world explanation. This was a lie. They went in the very direction they claimed they wouldn't go -- which is why a good chunk of the fanbase turned viciously on the show after the ending was revealed.

LOST is a great show when you focus on the individual episodes and the stories therein and especially about the characters: Locke, the show's most compelling figure, Jack, Kate, Desmond, Hurley, Ben -- these are the central figures. The others, Sun, Jin, Michael/Walt, etc. utlimately don't really matter but do have some interesting things to do to drive the series.

I'd still say go ahead and watch it. It's a very good show. I'm still bummed, nine months after it ended, that the ending given wasn't as cool as it should have been and COULD have been.

                              So it goes.
