KANSAS CITY, Kan. - One of four students kicked out of a northeast Kansas nursing school after posing for photos with a human placenta wants a judge to order her reinstatement before classes resume Jan. 19.
Doyle Byrnes was booted from Johnson County Community College one day after she posted one of the placenta photos on Facebook. A hearing on her case was scheduled Thursday afternoon in federal court in Kansas City, Kan.
The school has said the students could seek readmission in the fall. But Byrnes is getting married in August and plans to move to Virginia with her husband after graduating in May.
The college's lead attorney, Mark Ferguson, has said in an e-mail that Byrnes should accept the consequences of her own actions
