TV/Blu-ray help

I have a Sharp blu-ray player connected to a Sony Bravia and whenever I switch inputs to watch TV and then switch back to the blu-ray input, the TV indicates the blu-ray is connected but just shows a black screen. I have to physically change the input the HDMI is plugged into and switch inputs on the TV just to watch a movie. Is there any way to have the TV just reset the input rather than my fat ass getting up and changing the plug every time?

I have a similar issue, but with my Uverse receiver. For some reason there are times when the TV doesn't recognize the Uverse box. I have to turn the TV off and then back on a couple of times and then it receives the signal. In short . . . you might try that.
