I got 6 inches at my house (that's what she said) in an area where we get about an inch a year. This nor'easter is a pretty significant storm, albeit not as crazy as last year's snowpocalypse.

It isn't 28,000,000, but it is 19,000,000. Additionally, the storm affected a great deal more than NYC. I'm not saying that there isn't an east coast bias. Just that in this case the number of people this storm effects makes it newsworthier than an equivalent storm in KS.
