Depends on the pet. I used to have some fish (a gift from a former boss) that I continued o take care of only out of being humane. I flush em for her. Now my dog is a different story.

Fish - Yes
Birds - Yes
Cats - Not Applicable because I'd never own a fucking cat
Dogs - NO!

I've never loved a woman more than I loved my dog growing up. It's not even close, either. If I had a dog, there would be a snowball's chance in hell I'd get rid of it for a girl.

I gave my African Grey to my parents. I wish I wouldn't have because he's a complete badass and won't let me handle him anymore. I will get another one some day. My dog will always stay. The wife would be gone if she ever said I had to get rid of my dog.
