Proud to be a Kansan

I am proud to be a Kansan because:

People around here aren't ashamed to work with the soil

People still remember that self reliance is the only sure way to succeed

People know that farmers do more good for humanity than lawyers

People know that those who build are more important than those who theorize

It's almost impossible to get tofu in a real restaurant

The "Green Movement" means moving the John Deere across the highway to us



The above are what make me proud, obviously as KU fans none of these work you (in fact the agricultural ones seem to make you ashamed), so what makes you proud?

I'm proud Kansas has a university that teaches relevant topics in KU.

I'm proud that the Jayhawks have a relevant sports program.

I'm proud that Kansas hasn't outlawed titty bars like Missouri.

I'm proud that there are so many able bodied farmers who will switch to Mary J in a heartbeat when it's legal

Kansas State teaches topics much more relevant to the state (which is a farm and industrial based state no matter how much you wish it wasn't). I think the world has enough lawyers, plastic surgeons, and cultural studies professors.

But that doesn't count, because Bill Self paid off the tornado so that we could influence better recruits to come play in Lawrence.

Wow KU students can build overblown and overbudget buildings for PR stunts. KSU students did more for that town, but didn't seem to crave the press attention.
