That's the closest grocery store to where I live. I shop there all the time, but moreso for the people watching than the products. I always leave that store feeling much, much better about myself.
True tale of East Lawrence, c. 1994. My friend on East 19th discovered how easy it was to shoplift at the Mass St. Dillon's. Exactly like in Animal House, he'd stuff his pants full of steaks and just brazenly walk out. He did that for years. Anything he wanted that would fit in his jeans or jacket.
They finally installed anti-theft devices in the late 1990s. He must've wiped out tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise just on his own.

Ghetto Dillons used to be my store of choice until we moved out to 6th. Now we go to working-middle-class Dillons.
Is the one out on West 6th a nicer Dillons? Maybe a JoCo Dillons?

It's nicer in a Manhattan vs. Columbia sort of way.

If I didn't shoplift the grocery stores in the 70's, I would have starved to death.

Reminds me of when I cashiered at Food4Less in the late 90's. We called it Food4Free.
