Google sky map is cool.
Tapatalk is great for using this forum, I'm using it now.
Tweetcaster is nice.
And check out some of the other MP3 apps. I use one called "3"
I think another is called Juice Defender to increase battery life.
Tikl is a touch to talk app.
There are other good apps for rooted users.

I have a Vibrant, pretty much very similar device

I installed a rom that completely removed touchwiz and have my default launcher as LauncherPro

soooo fast

I also use an OC/UV kernel @ 1.2 ghz
