pros? cons?

Pros: Better customer service than Dish and cable companies, more sports than anyone else, good dvr's (at least now anyways)
Cons: Price....generally more expensive than Dish for just general programming

I had DirecTV twice (late 90s, then again in 04-06) and my experience was very positive. Very good customer service, strong signal from my balcony mounted dish antenna (which was covered mostly from rain by above balcony), and excellent menus that allowed customization (60 percent of the channels deleted from my favorites menu; see ya, CBN).

I have Dish Network now. It's a bit cheaper than DirecTV, has mostly the same channels and okay customer service.

It's a Coke/Pepsi thing for me. But I prefer satellite delivery over Sunflower Cable and Comcast. I think I'm through with cable companies forever.
