  • Attending school at a Rival University

I've seen this happen on a couple other boards I peruse

    KU fan attending KSU

KSU fan attending Friend's University of Central Kansas

    etc......

I'm not entirely sure if I could do it...but it would have to involve money...probably the full ride option...I just can't imagine walking around MU...I wouldn't want to be the dbag that wears rival clothes on campus, but I wouldn't be caught dead in black and yellow

    And you?

I feel like that last option is targeting a specific poster for some reason.

no problem with it. as much as I like to hammer rival schools, education is education. And unless you're in some sort of specialty program, I don't honestly think a general degree means jack shit from one state school to another (no idea about Friends university).

        SBD-->look at the acronym

I just saw a post on TooS from a KU fan at State and figured I'd start this thread up

            Never.

There are lots of schools that aren't hated rivals.

I had the choice of attending school in state at Mizzou or paying out of state at KU... there wasn't much of a choice when it all boiled down...

                  Its a never for me.

There is not a single degree at K-State that I would rather have than the one I have from KU.

As for Mizzou, no fucking way.

                    I wouldn't do it.

Then again, we should remember KSU's true rival is Texas.

I didn't necessarily give a shit about KU until I went there. It was just a school that seemed fun, in an amazing city, I didn't know anyone, and had a good hoops team. I didn't really know anything about the rivalries either. I could have inadvertently gone to Mizzou and have come out with a different viewpoint.

I've got 2 degrees from KU and one from Iowa State. The ISU one was purely for the program and it annoyed the hell out of me to be getting a degree from there. As far as those 2 schools mentioned, no way in hell would I go to either of them.

Same deal. I'm an out of stater and Mizzou was actually closer to where I grew up. I could have been an MU guy and never known a life of athletic achievement.
