  • Your I.T. guy

How would you rate your relationship?

I'll admit, I'm one of those people that tries to go out of their way to be nice to them in order to get better service. Quid pro quo.

IT hasn't yelled at me for wasting entire days on the internet, so I guess it's pretty good.

I am nice to my IT guy. My dad is an IT guy as well so I know he has to deal with idiots who can't double space or format their word documents. He also has to deal with people who can't get their wall paper they want, and the idiots who listen to the radio online and kill the bandwidth, and all that crap. Basically, I think IT is the most hated department in most companies.

I have a good relationship with my IT guy. He's a nice guy and I really have no problem with him really. Sometimes there are things that I don't get why he does them though.

My IT guy and I post on a lot of the same boards (although he's never posted on this one) so we're cool. Plus, he's a UK fan, too.

I was the IT guy for years. Being an IT guy is like owning a truck. EVERYONE you know calls you when they need it. I would get calls from people I worked with asking how to fix their crap at home. I am always fixing family members junk.

We just got our first official fulltime IT "guy" in the 22 years of our existence. We got HAMMERED together a couple of weeks ago, and bonded. I think we're good now...

I did that for years. I solved it by saying, "Buy a mac".

I work at a small company that doesn't have an IT guy. I usually end up filling that role. Rather poorly, I might add. IT dewds are underrated.

That is how I got my old IT job. The Youngest guy there always got dumped the IT problems, until he started saying "sorry I don't have time and that isn't my job." Then he started saying "but I know a guy who can do all of those things for us". I got a phone call and started shortly after.
